Green Canyon or Suluada? Let Geography Choose for You
Quick answer
An emerald mountain lake in the east, a white-beach island in the west — an honest choice decided by one thing: where your hotel stands.
Two boat days, one province, and a full coastline between them. The Green Canyon is a flooded mountain canyon on Antalya’s eastern side — cold, emerald fresh water held behind a dam of about 185 metres above Manavgat. Suluada is an island off Adrasan on the far western, Kemer side — known for its pale beach and open sea, a look that has it often nicknamed the ‘Maldives of Turkey’. Both are superb. Which one belongs in your week is mostly a question of where your hotel is.
Two different Turkeys on the water
The canyon is a mountain day: pine walls, still spring-fed water that glows emerald in midday sun, and swimming from the boat into deep, cool fresh water at designated stops — with lunch cooked on board on the classic tour, or a brisker 2.5-hour catamaran run with one swim stop. Suluada is the opposite mood: open Mediterranean, a small island, warm salt water off a white beach. One is an amphitheatre; the other is a horizon.
Let your hotel decide
Staying anywhere from Side to Alanya, the canyon is your local day out — we collect along that coast daily in season, and the lake sits just inland of Manavgat. Suluada from there means crossing the entire Antalya coastline to Adrasan and back: possible, but a very long day dominated by the coach. On the Kemer side — Kemer, Tekirova, Çamyuva, Beldibi, Göynük — the logic flips completely: Adrasan is close, Suluada is your local star, and we’ll be straight with you — our canyon tours have no scheduled pickup from the Kemer side at all.
From Belek or Antalya city you genuinely stand between the two worlds: the canyon collects there on Mondays and Thursdays, while Suluada remains a long westward run. Our own team runs the Suluada trip too, at suluadaboattour.com, so we have no reason to steer you anywhere — geography does the steering.
If you can do both
Do both — on different holidays, or from different hotels. The two days share nothing but a boat: fresh water against salt, canyon walls against open horizon, cold springs against a warm beach. The canyon half of the choice books online in minutes, with nothing paid online, payment on the tour day, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
